Your holiday and Covid-19

Boating holidays are a very relaxing way to escape the crowds and enjoy the rural solitude of the UK inland waterways. As a UK-based holiday or staycation, our guests can enjoy quality time exploring the many rural retreats of the canal with their family, friends and loved ones on board your own fully self-sufficient floating home. You can spend your holiday with as much isolation as you choose by selecting a route that provides you the chance for a total escape from the modern world. Most customers choose to arrive by car, thereby avoiding the need for public transport, potential travel disruption or crowded airports and ferries.

Prior to your arrival, every boat is cleaned throughout (with particular attention to the latest expert guidelines) and freshly-laundered bedding is supplied or you can bring your own if you prefer to. On boarding your boat, you will be instructed by one of our trained handover team who have been instructed on best practices to minimise your risk and ensure that you are fully instructed on all aspects of basic boat handling as well as simple precautions to take during your holiday to ensure the safety of all on board. Every boat handover to our guests is managed following a carefully-documented and monitored handover procedure as set out by our industry body, British Marine, to maintain consistent standards of instruction wherever you choose to start your holiday.

What happens if I cannot travel due to Covid-19?

The Government has now issued various restrictions but Wales is still currently being told to continue lockdown measures, which will be reviewed every 2 weeks or so, we must advise customers who were due to holiday with Cambrian Cruisers between now and the 30th June, that we regretfully have to postpone your cruise to an alternative holiday, to be taken no later than 12 months after your original holiday date. Please note that due to the unprecedented nature of Covid-19 and the regular updates of Government advice, we are only attending to bookings up until the end of June. However, should the restrictions still be in place, then our terms will obviously extend.

What if I'm an overseas guest and my country has restricted travel?

We strongly advise customers to take out travel insurance. In the event of not being able to travel then please contact your travel insurers and we will provide the necessary documentation to support your claim. If you do not have travel insurance and your holiday at Cambrian Cruisers commences before July 31st, we are able to hold your deposit until the end of our 2021 season and you can book an alternative date (an additional cost may apply if the chosen alternative dates fall within a higher date band).

We would advise you to check the GOV.UK website for the most up-to-date information as the information is changing on a daily basis – we suggest checking before travelling to receive the latest updates.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these very difficult times. As always please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or queries, as we’re sure you can understand we are experiencing high levels of calls and emails today so feel free to leave a message or send an email and we will come back to you at the earliest possible time.
