Boating holidays are a very relaxing way to escape the crowds and enjoy the rural solitude of the UK inland waterways. As a UK-based holiday or staycation, our guests can enjoy quality time exploring the many rural retreats of the canal with their family, friends and loved ones on board your own fully self-sufficient floating home. You can spend your holiday with as much isolation as you choose by selecting a route that provides you the chance for a total escape from the modern world. Most customers choose to arrive by car, thereby avoiding the need for public transport, potential travel disruption or crowded airports and ferries.
Prior to your arrival, every boat is cleaned thoroughly (with particular attention to the latest expert guidelines) and 'fogged' throughout which disinfects all surfaces. Our Cleaning team have all been trained to follow the strict cleaning protocols so that everything is done to keep our hirers and staff as safe as possible. Freshly-laundered bedding is supplied or you can bring your own if you choose to - PLEASE do let us know in advance if this is your preference.
Once the balance for your holiday has been paid, we will email you the joining instructions and ask ALL adult crew members to watch the Boating Tutorials, prior to your holiday. These informative and very important videos can be found by clicking 'The Canal' tab on our website.
On boarding your boat, you will be instructed by one of our trained handover team who have been informed on best practices to minimise risk and ensure that you are fully instructed on all aspects of basic boat handling, as well as simple precautions to take during your holiday to ensure the safety of all on board. Every boat handover to our guests is managed following a carefully-documented and monitored handover procedure as set out by our industry body, British Marine.
