Your holiday and Covid-19

We are now closed for the season but Jonathan and I would like to thank every single one of our fabulous hirers for being so understanding and loyal these past few months and we hope that our 2021 season will run a bit more smoothly. We hope that you all stay safe and well and look forward to seeing many of you next year. Diolch yn fawr iawn!

Boating holidays are a very relaxing way to escape the crowds and enjoy the rural solitude of the UK inland waterways. As a UK-based holiday or staycation, our guests can enjoy quality time exploring the many rural retreats of the canal with their family, friends and loved ones on board your own fully self-sufficient floating home. You can spend your holiday with as much isolation as you choose by selecting a route that provides you the chance for a total escape from the modern world. Most customers choose to arrive by car, thereby avoiding the need for public transport, potential travel disruption or crowded airports and ferries.

Prior to your arrival, every boat is cleaned thoroughly (with particular attention to the latest expert guidelines) and 'fogged' throughout which disinfects all surfaces. Our Cleaning team have all been trained to follow the strict cleaning protocols so that everything is done to keep our hirers and staff as safe as possible. Freshly-laundered bedding is supplied or you can bring your own if you choose to  - PLEASE do let us know in advance if this is your preference.

Once the balance for your holiday has been paid, we will email you the joining instructions and ask ALL adult crew members to watch the Boating Tutorials, prior to your holiday. These informative and very important videos can be found by clicking 'The Canal' tab on our website. We also recommend packing hand sanitisers and any PPE products you have with you. We ask that everyone maintains the social distancing rules at all times and do everything possible to keep yourselves and others safe.

On boarding your boat, you will be instructed by one of our trained handover team who have been instructed on best practices to minimise your risk and ensure that you are fully instructed on all aspects of basic boat handling as well as simple precautions to take during your holiday to ensure the safety of all on board. Every boat handover to our guests is managed following a carefully-documented and monitored handover procedure as set out by our industry body, British Marine, to maintain consistent standards of instruction wherever you choose to start your holiday.

What happens if I cannot travel due to Covid-19?

Should the Government issue new restrictions, local lockdown measures or if any crew members have symptoms of Covid-19, please contact us as soon as possible.

What if I'm an overseas guest and my country has restricted travel?

We strongly advise customers to take out travel insurance. In the event of not being able to travel then please contact your travel insurers and we will provide the necessary documentation to support your claim. If you do not have travel insurance and you're not able to take your holiday at Cambrian Cruisers, we are able to hold your deposit until the end of our 2021 season and you can book an alternative date (an additional cost may apply if the chosen alternative dates fall within a higher date band) or we will refund your deposit less the cost of the canal guide sent out with your initial booking details.

We would advise you to check the GOV.UK website for the most up-to-date information as the information is changing on a daily basis – we suggest checking before travelling to receive the latest updates.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these very difficult times. As always please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or queries, as we’re sure you can understand we are experiencing high levels of calls and emails so feel free to leave a message or send an email and we will come back to you at the earliest possible time.
