Cambrian Cruisers was established in 1988 by Ruth and Peter Griffiths. I am Jonathan their younger son and from the very beginning, at the age of twelve I was an eager helper, only too keen to show off my narrowboat handling skills, sometimes with embarrassing consequences!! Twenty years on I have now taken over the narrowboat hire business and run it with my wife Camilla. Being involved from the beginning I have learned how important it is to provide the committed and professional service our guests deserve.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our hire narrowboats which are clean, modern, reliable and well equipped.

Our handover procedures and the instruction we give to hirers have been checked and accredited by the British Marine Federation. You can be sure that you will get good information and an effective briefing before you take out one of our hire narrowboats.

OUR MARINA BASE
We are situated just outside Brecon, off the A40 and just one hour from the Severn bridge. Take A40 from Abergavenny, after Crickhowell and Bwlch take Left turn to Talybont on Usk, then Right turn on to B4558 towards Brecon, continue on and 1 mile after village of Pencelli our marked driveway is on right side. (Mind speedhumps) For hirers coming by public transport the nearest railway station is at Abergavenny and a bus from there, passes our marina every two hours.

Loading your narrowboat hire boat from your car is easy at our purpose built moorings. We provide secure and secluded car parking to give you peace of mind about your vehicle whilst you enjoy your narrowboat hire holiday.

From our base at the northern end of the Mon & Brec canal, you can easily make a waterway visit to Brecon and also be able to enjoy most of the interesting features of the Mon & Brec canal i.e. aqueducts, lift bridges, tunnel, locks, and fantastic views of the Brecon Beacons.
